This Privacy Policy explains how PricePing ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This applies to users located in the European Economic Area (EEA).

2. Information We Collect

  • Email and Name: Collected during sign-in via Google OAuth to create and manage your account.
  • Timezone: Used to time email notifications appropriately.
  • PayPal Subscription ID: Stored to manage your subscription. We do not store any payment data, including card details. All payment processing is handled directly by PayPal.
  • Subscription interest: When you click a paid plan, upgrade, or subscription payment button, we record the selected plan, page, action, and time, even if you do not buy. A random browser ID links these clicks; after sign-in, they are associated with your account.

  • Contract: Processing your data is necessary to provide our services and manage your account.
  • Consent: Where required (e.g., timezone setting), we rely on your consent.
  • Legal Obligation: To comply with tax or legal reporting duties via PayPal.

7. Local Storage & Tracking

  • No third-party analytics or advertising trackers: we record subscription button clicks in our own database, but do not use third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
  • Subscription browser ID: A random ID stored in local storage links subscription clicks across visits and sign-in. It remains until you clear your browser's site data.
  • Local storage: your session token and preferences (theme, timezone, sort order) are stored in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device and are cleared when you sign out.
  • Strictly necessary cookies: Google and PayPal may set cookies during login or checkout. We do not control these.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

9. Data Retention

We retain your email, name, timezone, and PayPal subscription ID as long as your account is active or required to fulfill our legal obligations. Subscription interest events are also retained in our database; you may request their deletion.
